The Dampier Transit Caravan Park is a small park on The Esplanade and across from the harbour and Dampier Archipelago. You can sit and watch the ships being loaded with iron ore or gas tankers leaving and enjoy lovely sunsets over the water. As the park is only small bookings are advisable and there is a maximum stay of three nights.
The park is basic but we spoke to people staying here and they said it had a friendly atmosphere with a helpful manager. The toilets and showers were OK, the camp kitchen is a bit rustic and the washing machines all worked okay.
