We called into Bridgewater on Loddon during our recent travels through Victoria. Bridgewater Public Caravan Park is a beautiful new park on the banks of the Loddon River. The sites are covered with plenty of luscious green grass (a bit thick in the morning when damp) and are quite spacious.
We had been delayed on our trip and would arrive much later than expected but this was not a problem for Veronica (Manager) who was happy to leave a note in the late box with site number etc. This park can get very busy and I left a message regarding our arrival - Veronica rang back as soon as she had a free moment.
She was happy for us to stay hooked up as the site behind us was not occupied until the next day. The Loddon River along the caravan park is a well known water skiing location and this beautiful park was fully booked over Easter. The sites are large enough for a boat and the boat ramp is conveniently located at the end of the park. I understand launching permits apply.
There is a lovely enclosed camp kitchen on the river’s edge with covered verandah and plenty of seating overlooking the water. The kitchen has loads of bench space, oven, cook top, fridge, jug toaster etc, and mirror copy of this at the other end of the room - plenty of space for several families. Very nicely done.
Amenities are new and there is one at either end of park. A small swimming pool with large playing area is convenient to all sites in the centre - jumping pillow and children’s playground. This is a pet friendly caravan park and drive through sites are available for large motor homes.
This park has been well designed and contains a large camping areas. A walking path along the river leads to the local pub for delicious meals, the baker (well known for great pies) and further along you will come to the Bridgewater Swimming hole and picnic area.
We would not hesitate to stay at Bridgewater Public Caravan Park during our next trip through this area - welcoming and clean.
