Swan Reach is a small town on the Murray River in South Australia - about 62 kilometres north east of Mannum. The aboriginal name for this town means large number of Black Swans so keep an eye out when visiting the area. Swan Reach has been affected by a number of floods over the years and there are photos in the local museum of the 1956 flood when a large number of buildings on the main street were washed away. There is ferry service here and the caravan park is located close to the boat ramp – great for boating and fishing.
