The BIG4 Renmark Riverfront Holiday Park would have to be one of the biggest caravan parks I have seen during travels around Australia. It is located on the banks of the Murray River at Renmark and has a huge range of accommodation and boat ramp within the park for easy access to the river.
The Holiday Park is a kids dream with a water park, pool (toddler's pool), jumping pillow, playgrounds, basketball/netball ring, tennis courts, go karts, games room and lots more to keep them busy (and happy) during the school holidays.
Other features of this beautiful looking park include:
There are a large number of caravan and camping sites (powered and unpowered) that include drive-through, ensuite and large motor home sites - some have absolute river frontage. I have never seen so many cabins in one caravan park and I am sure you would find something to suit any size family - some of these are also on the river and look very well designed.
This BIG4 park offers discounts for members and they do not allow pets. Renmark Riverfront Holiday Park reception is open from 8 am to 7 pm and is an extremely popular holiday destination. There is a walking/cycling path from the BIG4 to the centre of town for access to restaurants, cafes and pubs and clubs.
Riverbend Caravan Park is a Top Tourist Park (Top Park) sitting on the banks of the Murray River in Renmark, South Australia. The access to this shady park is from the Sturt Highway near the Paringa Bridge. One thing to note is that the water supplied to the sites is filtered river water which I did not find nice to drink. There is a tap for drinking water beside the amenities block or you may wish to fill up the tanks in the caravan before you arrive.
As the name suggests this park is on a bend in the river with direct access to the mighty Murray. Some features of Riverbend Caravan Park include:
We had a grassed site which was well shaded by large trees and easy to access - the park was not busy so we were able to drive through to our site. The cabins in the park are older but very neat and tidy and the park is walking distance to the shops at Paringa. The Paringa Pub is just across the bridge from the park and we really enjoyed their schnitzel night - chicken schnitzel chip and salad bar for just $15 (great meal). This convenient park is a short bike ride into Renmark along a sealed track - some sections follow the Murray River.
The staff at the park were friendly and helpful and work very had to keep the grass on the sites during busy periods. There are several sites and cabins that enjoy absolute river frontage plus a swimming area with a sandy bottom for the kids.
