While visiting Port Vincent on the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia we stayed at the Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park at the end of Marine Parade. This is a beautifully clean and well maintained caravan park with a friendly greeting upon arrival and happy to allow guests to choose a site from those available on the day. They are a member of Family Parks and discounts apply. This caravan park is within walking distance to the local hotel and shops plus a lovely stroll along the foreshore to the Marina.
Some features of Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park are:
While we were starying at Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park they were just completoing the construction of the "OzShack". These are cedar structures for a glamourous camping holiday - budget accommodation in a "wooden tent" (you use the park's amenities). The "OzShacks" are located at the entrance of the park - unusual design and can sleep up to 4 people.
The water in front of the caravan park is very protected from the wind and was calm enough to take out our Fanatic (Inflatable) Stand Up Paddle Board and allow some fellow travellers to try SUPing for the first time. The caravans that park along the beachfront can even fish from the back of their vans during high tide. This was fabulous for one elderly person who could not walk very far. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Port Vincent Foreshore Caravan Park and would not hesitate to return for a few days during our next trip to the Yorke Peninsula.
