Port Elliot Holiday Park is a Big4 caravan park located on the shores of Horseshoe Bay in South Australia - just 80 kilometres from Adelaide and about 4 kilometres form Victor Harbor. What a great find - we arrived just after schoolies and almost had the park to ourselves - they had just finished cleaning up and had re-opened their gates to caravanners late in the afternoon. There were only about 10 caravans in the park so we were able to choose a site - drive-thru and close to the amenities. The park quickly filled up over the next couple of days and was almost full again by the weekend. This is a lovely big park with very shady sites, clean amenities and friendly staff.
Some features of Port Elliot Holiday Park include:
This caravan park is located within walking distance of Port Elliot and there are several interesting lookouts on the way plus beautiful old stone buildings. The Flying Fish Cafe/Restaurant is on the waterfront close by and this is a wonderful place for fresh seafood. There are a number of walking tracks through the adjacent Basham Regional Parkland, and the Encounter Bikeway runs past the entrance of the Holiday Park. This Bikeway runs along the coast from Victor Harbor to Goolwa. The old Cockle Train also runs through Port Elliot and past the entrance to the caravan park - you can even cycle one way and catch the train back. We really enjoyed our stay at Port Elliot Holiday Park and found it to be the nicest park in the area. Highly recommended by rvtrips as the place to stay in order to explore this part of the Fleurieu Peninsula - a beautiful area.
