The Nullarbor Roadhouse is a very welcome stop when driving across this long stretch of the Eyre Highway towing a caravan. The Roadhouse provides an essential service in the middle of the Nullarbor - fuel, restaurant, bar, caravan and camping area as well as motel rooms. There is very little water available when travelling in this part of the country so please carry as much as you can.
We were allocated a powered site (no water) alongside the Roadhouse and told to park facing the road. In the middle of the night a huge thunder storm rolled in - we then understood the parking instructions as we were head-on into a strong wind. The next day we heard of a van being blown over in one of the free camping spots. I could not believe that we were in such a dry place and experienced thunder, lightening and rain.
