Coobowie is a small village about 5 kilometres north of Edithburgh at the southourn end of the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia. The Coobowie Caravan Park is a lovely little park located on the main road and protected from the wind. The Managers, Ken and Lisa Taylor were friendly and happy for us to look around.
Coobowie is known as "The Pelican Port on the Yorke" and is becoming increasingly popular with holiday makers, with the caravan park within walking distance to the town's business centre and safe swimming beaches. Some friends had told us that Blooms and Bakes was THE place to go for morning tea - home made cakes, devonshire tea and hot coffee (they also have a range of flowers and gifts).
Some features of the Coobowie Caravan Park include:
A bike/walking track has been created between Coobowie and Edithburgh and bikes are available for hire from the Coobowie Caravan Park (family rates) - along the way you will find a bird hide and great views of this beautiful rugged coastline. This caravan park had a lovely welcoming feel about it and we look forward to visiting the Yorke Peninsula again and hope to stay in Coobowie.
