The Mareeba Rodeo and Camping Ground (Kerribee Park) is on Dimbulah Road. We were advised by fellow travellers to stay here while visiting Mareeba. Even though it is a few kilometres out of town it is very popular with grey nomads. We paid $17 per night for a powered drive-through site which was large, grassy and relatively flat. Apparently the Mareeba Rodeo and Camping ground can hold up to 360 caravans and campers during the busy season or Rodeo Weekend (powered and unpowered sites).
There are quite a few kangaroos that graze around the park and we got some great photos early one morning. We even experienced a hot air balloon landing in the rodeo grounds - a great spectacle.
The facilities of the Mareeba Rodeo and Camping Ground include - gas hot showers, toilet/shower with disabled access, mobile phone reception, dump point, laundry and resident caretakers. Pets are permitted in the camping ground. This is a quiet camping ground and we enjoyed our stay here catching up with friends and exploring Mareeba.
