Our articles have been grouped into locations so you can better read about what there is to see and do in a town.
It's easy, start by picking a location. Each article has a link to an RvTrips' web page containing more detailed information, photos and maps.
When visiting Malanda last year we spent several days at the Malanda Falls Caravan Park on the Malanda-Atherton Road (Park Avenue). This caravan park is located near Malanda Falls and the Malanda Falls Visitor Information Centre. It is a short walk to town and a very convenient place to stay when exploring the area.
We had a drive-through grassy site for the Caravan which was great as it rained the whole time. The roads around the park are quite narrow and we had to back out of our site when it was time to leave - due to trees, signs and a drain along the side of the road directly opposite the caravan. This was not a problem although we had to ask the people beside us to move their car.
The Malanda Falls Caravan Park is quite large with plenty of space for camping. There are some nice looking cabins set on the side of the hill near the front entrance with their own verandahs overlooking the rainforest. We found the amenities to be very clean and only a short walk from our Caravan.
The rainforest beside the Malanda Falls Caravan Park is full of birds and is one of the few places that you can see the rare Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to Malanda.
