Our articles have been grouped into locations so you can better read about what there is to see and do in a town.
It's easy, start by picking a location. Each article has a link to an RvTrips' web page containing more detailed information, photos and maps.
While towing the caravan from Isisford to Longreach in outback Queensland we stopped to look at the Ilfracombe Caravan Park on the Landsborough Highway - entrance via Murray Street. You won't miss this entrance with a A truck perched on a structure over the access road.
This park was very busy and we have friends who love to stay here whenever they visit the area. Ilfracombe Caravan Park has happy hour several nights a week (depending on numbers) in a covered area near the office (check out the interesting fire hearth) and they also serve meals. I think you are asked to pre-order and daily specials are displayed at reception. Some evenings there is entertainment provided and the place had a welcoming happy feel about it.
Most sites were gravel sites with some slabs for the annex. This park is within walking distance to the local pub, shops and a range of old truck displayed along the highway. There is a heated mineral spa up the road and we saw several people heading along the road with towels tucked under their arms.
The caravan park offers parking assistance and has a range of self-contained cabins and units. They even allow well behaved pets. The shop at reception has a range of gifts and jewellery which was quite interesting.
We would not hesitate to stay her on a future trip through Queensland.
