Cape Tribulation Camping – a lovely little camping spot just off the main road and on Myall Beach.
They have unpowered camping $15 per adult per night and powered is $20 per adult per night (October 2016).
The main building houses a bar and café which serves wood-fired pizzas most nights from 5-7 pm, as well as coffee and cake. On Sunday they bake Artisan breads and we were lucky enough to arrive before they had sold out - great. We thought this was a lovely quiet spot to enjoy a few nights when visiting Cape Tribulation and the Daintree National Park.
Lync-Haven Motel/Camping is on the left hand side of the main road as you head north towards Cape Tribulation. This is a lovely spot to stop for morning tea, lunch or an overnight stay. The cafe has plenty of seating and there are some lovely locations along the verandah to relax while enjoying coffee in the shade.
Several bird aviaries are located about the grounds and we even had a local Rainbow Lorikeet land on a nearby chair – I guess looking for food. They also have a collection of snakes inside - if you are interested in viewing some of the local wildlife.
A road running alongside the café towards the camping area has a number of units/cabins which look very neat and tidy. Some buildings house two units and a driveway catering for two cars.
The camping ground sits in the middle of rainforest growth offering powered and un-powered sites. The amenities block is quite old but adequate and there is a covered camp kitchen with a long bench table for guests. Several very old timber cabins are located within the camping area but I am not sure whether they are still in use. There are several walking tracks through the rainforest on this property for guest to enjoy.
We enjoyed a friendly welcome to Lync-Haven Rainforest Retreat and look forward to camping here on our next trip to the Daintree.
PK's Jungle Village is located across Cape Tribulation Road from the Ocean Safari Jungle Lodge - about 63 kilometres north of Mossman. PKs Jungle Village has lovely looking cabins set in tropical gardens plus a shaded camping area. Basic small sites which are very busy – we were told they they a full every night.
A Mangrove boardwalk leads down to Myall Beach. The boardwalk is accessed via the campground or from the main car park. Very good.
Next to PK's Jungle Village is a a grocery store, information centre and great bar/restaurant with large covered verandahs overlooking the pool – The Snakehouse.
A very popular stopping place for people visiting Cape Tribulation and the Daintree.
