Mataranka Cabins and Camping Ground is the closest caravan park to Bitter Springs - a thermal spring in the middle of the Northern Territory.  It is a short drive from the Stuart Highway at the northern end of Mataranka.

There are a number of accommodation options if you want to stay here with plenty of shade allowing you to find a nice cool spot for your caravan or tent. This is a very popular camping ground as people like to visit Bitter Springs and float in the fast moving warm water.

Territory Manor Motel And Caravan Park     Read more ...

Territory Manor Motel and Caravan Park is about 300 metres off the Stuart Highway at the northern end of Mataranka - just down the road you will find Bitter Springs thermal pools.

The park has quite a few shaded spots for the Caravan or Tent as well as motel rooms available for overnight accommodation. There is a restaurant on site that offers Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The Territory Manor Motel and Caravan Park invite you to come along and watch the barramundi feeding demonstration each day and learn about these amazing fish.

Mataranka Homestead Caravan Park     Read more ...

We called into the Mataranka Homestead Caravan Park for two nights and ended up staying for a week. This is a very relaxing spot and just a short walk to the Rainbow Springs Thermal Pool for a relaxing dip. The sites are large (on dirt) with plenty of shade, and the park is surrounded by Elsey National Park. The wallabies come in each day looking for food - do not feed them bread (we were told that the yeast in the bread rots their teeth and gums).

The amenities are very clean and relatively new. This a popular place and some people we met return here year after year to relax and enjoy the thermal pool. The reception and shop provides basic item as well as souvenirs and fishing gear. The restaurant and bar are located beside the reception and there was live entertainment provided every night during our stay. The meals are very generous and they offer specials each evening. We stayed at the Mataranka Homestead Caravan Park during August and the weather was perfect every day.
