Our articles have been grouped into locations so you can better read about what there is to see and do in a town.
It's easy, start by picking a location. Each article has a link to an RvTrips' web page containing more detailed information, photos and maps.
Kulgera is last town in Northern Territory as you are heading south along the Stuart Highway. This is an interesting stop which is a bit run down but shop clean and I enjoyed reading all the signs about the place. Apparently this is "The Last and First Pub" in the Northern Territory - a sign displayed next to a painting of a drover leaning on the wall.
This stop has fuel, quarantine bins, meals and takeaway food, with an eating area inside as well as tables along the covered verandah - toilets are located next to the shop. They also sell souvenirs and hand made gifts - I purchased a bracelet made out of gum nuts that had been painted by a local Aboriginal woman.
There were a number of powered caravan sites available for travellers - gravel and no water. There is a bar area with pool table in a separate room alongside the main shop featuring timber along the counter. We try to stop and support these small communities while travelling outback.
