Kings Creek Station is located on Luritja Road near Kings Canyon in the Northern Territory. This is a working cattle/camel station that offers overnight stays for caravans and campers. The station is apparently the largest exporter of wild camels in Australia and sells camels for live export, domestic sales and meat. Of course when you visit Kings Creek Station you can take one of the safaris with camel rides ranging from a few minutes to about an hour.

It was very hot when we called in to look around and noticed that shades had been erected beside the caravan and camping sites for comfort. Some sites cater for large rigs. Toilet, shower and laundry facilities are provided plus a swimming pool. They have a range of safari tents and cabins if you want to try glamping.

Kings Creek Station offer a range of tours - quad bike, camel (as mentioned) and helicopter flights - all great ways to experience the outback. They sell basic supplies, meals and drinks - fuel is also sold here. When we stopped here the fuel was $2.19 per litre which is a little expensive, but when you need to top up in the outback you should be prepared to pay.

The takeaway section of Kings Creek Station was very busy and a number of overseas visitors were ordering the camel burger - we ordered a large takeaway coffee which was served in a smallish cup for which we were charged $5.50 – quite expensive and not full. This was disappointing.
