BIG4 Sawtell Beach Holiday Park     Read more ...

The BIG4 Sawtell Beach Holiday Park is a central place to meet for our family gatherings and we have stayed here on a number of occasions. We book our caravan sites well in advance - around what we call the cul-de-sac as these are large and easy to access. They are also located close to one of the amenities blocks and camp kitchen - newly renovated.

This large park has a huge range of cabin accommodation from self-contained villas overlooking the water to budget non-ensuite cabins - all with parking spaces. BIG4 Sawtell Beach Holiday Park has plenty of space for caravan and campers providing grassed, slab or ensuite sites. Apparently during the Christmas school holidays it is full but there is still plenty of space for kids to play on the village green or in the large shaded Children's playground.

The entrance has space for several caravans to park while checking in and the reception has a small shop including DVD hire. It is located alongside the town pool which allows one free visit per day for people staying at this park (guests need to collect entry tickets from reception daily). The park is surrounded by bush land and sits alongside the Bonville Creek - brush turkeys, goannas and beautiful rainbow bee eaters are regular visitors. During our last visit we witnessed brush turkeys chasing goannas away form their nest (mounds) - some smaller goannas had bits of their tails missing.

We find that we very rarely need to use the car when staying at BIG4 Sawtell Beach Holiday Park. Sawtell Bowlo is right next door for a dink or delicious Chinese meal and the park is within easy walking distance to the beach as well as the beautiful main street full of enormous fig trees. Sawtell main street has a range of cafes, restaurants, bars, (Sawtell Hotel, RSL Club) great sourdough bakery, and a range of shops.

The park is very well maintained with friendly staff and has all the amenities we need for a great holiday - a very relaxing spot on the NSW coast. Highly recommended.
