Guyra is a small town in the Northern Tablelands of NSW about 37 kilometres north of Armidale along the New England Highway. This is a large tomato growing area and has one of the largest greenhouses in Australia.
We called in to look at Guyra Summit Caravan Park while in the area and this is reportedly the highest caravan park in Australia at about 1300 metres above sea level. The caravan park has plenty of open space but was not very busy - it is seasonal with people coming and staying to pick tomatoes.
The Guyra Summit Caravan Park sits on the highway so there is some traffic noise which is to be expected. They have some drive-through sites and the amenities are quite old and seems to be in need of a new block. The manager was very friendly and happy for us to look around. There a a few concrete slabs available, This parks has plenty of shade over the grassed areas.
Convenient for an overnight stay but needs a bit of TLC - I understand it is for sale.
