My understanding is that Craigieburn Tourist Park (was a BIG4) and closed down for a few years. We called in and spoke to the owners who said they may be re-opening as a park again - not sure if that happened.
Craigieburn Cottages have always been for rent and they are in a beautiful setting on the creek and - down a dirt road from the highway. They are quiet and there are lots of shady trees on this 42 acre property. This is a great spot for the night when travelling in near Glen Innes in the northern highlands of NSW.
The Fossicker Caravan Park is a member of Top Parks and situated in the town of Glen Innes, NSW on the New England Highway (Church Street). It is within walking distance to the RSL Cub as well as shops, and they have lovely looking brick villas. The two bedroom villas have a separate bunk room with one set of 3 bunks and one set of 2 bunks - big enough for a larger family
Other facilities in the central park include:
Try your hand at fossicking for sapphires and gemstones in the area or the on site fossicking area. Glen Innes is beautiful during autumn with all the trees changing colour. A great spot for an overnight stay or family holiday.
Glen Rest Tourist Park is located at Glen Innes in NSW - on the edge of town in a parkland setting with lots of beautiful shade trees (Liquidambar that would look wonderful in autumn). We called in to look around on a recent caravan adventure and were greeted by very friendly staff.
The Glen Rest Tourist has great camp fire area for those cold nights. Other features of this park include:
The local RSL Services Club provides a courtesy bus that will pickup and return to Park (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) - we always look for this on holidays so we can go out and enjoy a meal occasionally.
A very nice looking park. Why not try fossicking for sapphires while your are here?
Glen Innes is a NSW town located on the New England and Gwydir HIghways - about 95 kilometres north of Armidale. The Poplar Caravan Park is located at the southern end of town and has a range of accommodation:
The caravan park is quiet with plenty of shade and has a camp kitchen as well as gas barbeques - tables and bench seats under cover. The amenities have a children's bath and pets are allowed on sites only.
Harry's Snack Shack at Poplars Caravan Park is a licenced cafe which is open for meals or takeaway five days a week.
