It's easy, start by picking a location. Each article has a link to an RvTrips' web page containing more detailed information, photos and maps.
Kidman's Camp is a beautiful place to stop for the night when heading to or from Bourke in outback New South Wales. We had been told on our travels that this was the place to stay - located about seven kilometres north of Bourke on the road to Cunnamulla, Mitchell Highway.
This is a lovely park, well maintained with flat grassy sites and beautiful, clean amenities. The sites are all different shapes and sizes and can cater for any large caravan, motorhome or fifth wheeler. We were able to look around and choose the site that suited us - leaving the car hooked up overnight. There are some amazing timber cabins within the park and some even have bush furniture sitting on their verandah. There are also a range of un-powered camping sites available.
A walking track to the river leads from the park - unfortunately it was raining when we visited Kidman's camp so we did not head out for a walk. There is a really lovely resort-style pool, with plenty of shade, very inviting on a hot outback day.
Kidman's Camp apparently offer Campfire Poetry and Outback Dining during April - October - the busy season. There is a pick up and return service to a couple of restaurants in town so you have a night out without driving. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely return on our next trip through country New South Wales.
