BIG4 Armidale Highlander Van Village is a very convenient place to stay when travelling north along the New England Highway. This caravan park sits close to the roundabout on the highway at the northern end of town. Easy to access and close to some of our family who live in this beautiful city in country NSW..
We were greeted warmly by the manager who was happy for us to look at the site before setting up for the night. The site was narrow but quite long and plenty of space. Accommodation at the park included a range of cabins budget, large ensuite (sleep up to 7), standard and deluxe. There also two types of cottages - Ali's Cottage with four bedrooms and two bathrooms, and cosy cottage which is a log style cabin. Facilities available at the Highlander Van Village include:
There is a deer enclosure next to park which is great for kids. During our stay we had a code for enter women’s amenities, but not for men - not sure why. We enjoyed out stay in this quiet park and would not hesitate to stay again on our next caravan adventure.
The Armidale Tourist Park (formerly Pembroke) is a member of Top Parks and a beautiful looking park close to the centre of town. This caravan park looked wonderful with great amenities – pool, tennis court, rec room, children's playground and very nice looking cabins
Pets are welcome on sites and in some dedicated ‘Pet-Friendly’ rooms. There are many pet friendly cafes’ in Armidale - take a walk through town and enjoy some of these lovely coffee spots. If you want to head into nearby national parks then Armidale Tourist Park has onsite kennels available for dogs during the day.
Some facilities at this welcoming park include:
We loved the look and feel of this well maintained caravan park and would not hesitate to stay here on our next trip through beautiful, historic Armidale.
